Artificial intelligence is not only involved in the production of new works and songs - it can also mimic the identity and brand of an artist or musician.
That's why the Danish Artist Association has joined forces with two other artist organisations to get legal protection for artists' right to their own expression and brand.
"It's important that we stay ahead of AI technology and protect artists and musicians. We've seen that copyright law protects authors against imitations of their works, but it doesn't provide enough protection for performers. We believe it's time to change the law to protect against rights and identity theft," says chairperson Sara Indrio.

The three organisations Danish Artist Association, Danish Musicians' Association and Danish Actors' Association are calling on Minister of Culture Jakob Engell Schmidt to change the legislation to protect artists, musicians and actors from AI-generated imitations.
